Elysia, a skilled warrior and former captain of the now-defunct Varenheim Guard, freed Recknor after he was ambushed and taken prisoner upon returning to the city to bury his family. Together, they fought valiantly all the way to the harbor, where they stole a ship to escape. Grateful, Recknor gave her a halberd he crafted for her. Though he tried to return the favor, Recknor was saved by her on more than one occasion. Over time, their friendship strengthened, and they became inseparable, relying on each other in every dangerous situation. Though they joked about their debt, their connection was clear to all.
